Movie night - both international and Swedish students welcome!

We will be showing the Oscar-nominated Triangle of Sadness (2022), by Swedish filmmaker Ruben Östlund.

Schedule

The movie will start a bit later, so you will have plenty of time to mingle and play some games before and after.

Free snacks will also be provided, so come hang out and watch a great movie!

We meet at 14:00 at Bergshamra Subway Station, which is reachable by the red line (two stations from KTH).

Hike length + difficulty

The hike will be 10 km (ca. 3:30h) with an extra 7km for those who want to go on a bit longer. We follow the following route: https://www.komoot.de/tour/488637976

The hike is for (almost) everybody: You don’t need expertise but should feel comfortable walking for a few hours.

What to bring

Wear stable shoes and bring enough water (min. 1 litre) for the tour! We’ll bring some “hiking snacks”, but if you think about doing the 17 km, you should probably bring something more to eat yourself.

Flexible end & Sauna

In case you also join the Sauna Event, you can directly go from the hike into the sauna (which will already be prepared), no matter which route you choose!

The last day for submitting motions is March 14th. During the Meeting, we will be reviewing last year’s reports and summaries, as well as discussing the discharge of the D-directorate of 2022 and committees with accounting obligation. We will also discuss motions and propositions.

The honorary delta is the Chapter's finest award and is given to those who have done a lot of good for the Chapter. Nominations can be made at dsekt.se/hedersdelta. The recipients will be presented at the Audit-CM and awarded at the spring ball. Previous years' recipients and motivations can be found at datasektionen.se/sektion/hedersdelta.

Do you know someone who has been particularly helpful or a kind friend? Nominate them for the THS Kamratstipendium at dsekt.se/kamrat! THS Kamratstipendium is awarded to good friends at each of the union's chapters. Nominations will be determined at the Audit-CM and then sent to THS.

The deadline to nominate for the 2023 honorary delta and THS THS Kamratstipendium is March 19th.

On Tuesday 28th February, KF#4 will be held in the Stora Matsalen in Nymble at 6pm.

All members of THS are welcome to come and listen (if you are a member of Data, you are a member of THS). However, only we elected members are allowed to speak during the meeting, so please talk to us if you have opinions. We are Jakob Carlsson, Noah Hopkins, Pontus Söderlund, and David Puustinen; and alternates Fabian Andréasson and Douglas Fischer.

At the meeting we will decide on such important things as the shade of the CL-chapters colour. We will also elect a chair and vice-chair for the next academic year. In addition, we will receive a visit from the President of KTH.

The KF, or Student Union Council (Kårfullmäktige), is the highest decision-making body of THS and thus decides, among other things, what the chapters are allowed to do. A number of delegates are elected from each chapter in proportion to the number of members, and we then have about 4-6 meetings per year. Think of it a bit like the EU but for chapters and you have a pretty good picture of the whole thing. Starting next year, members are elected at the SM (Chapter Meeting) so look forward to that!

The year was 1983 and a new education had been created at KTH. The first computer science students were looking for like-minded people and community, and so Konglig Datasektionen was born on the 7th of October that same year. Since then, the chapter has been celebrated every five years with a big celebration.

The anniversary only happens every five years and is likely the biggest event that happens during your time in the chapter. To celebrate all of our wonderful projects, committees, and members, this fall it is time to celebrate that the section has been around for a whole 40 years, and it will be bigger and better than ever!

We are starting with a secret spectacle in the spring for those of you who just can't wait until the fall. The birthday weeks in September and October will then be packed with fun events. This includes a more formal banquet worthy of the king himself, and ends with the coolest and most outrageous final party you can imagine. The rest of these weeks will consist of events where we collaborate with other parts of the chapter.

We kick off on 25/9, have the banquette on 30/9, and end with the slutfesten on 14/10. So mark these dates on your calendar and follow us on social media @djubileet to not miss out on ticket releases and other cool stuff.
