It is once again time for Konglig Datasektionen’s yearly CTF competition dJulkalendern! Do you have too much time to study? Exams to procrastinate for? Chapter-work to do some other time? Wonderful! Come and compete for the title Bäst på att DATA™!

A challenge is released every weekday in December (starting this friday!!!) before christmas eve at 12:15 CET. The challenges are cryptic puzzles, hacking and other computer science related things and your task is to solve as many of them, and as fast, as possible! The calendar has an intriguing story that unfolds as you solve each window.

The competition is individual, but a little while after a window has been released it is both allowed and encouraged to cooperate!

The winner receives the title Bäst på att DATA™. There is also an achievement patch for those who solve all windows and those who do it the quickest will receive dJulkalendern-themed T-shirts!

You can now already go to https://djulkalendern.se and solve the introductory window, -1, as well as make sure you understand the system and read the rules!

You should also join our discord server: https://dsekt.se/djul, where you can ask us questions, discuss the windows you have solved and be notified about any possible hints!

It will still be possible to study in META but there may be loud noises and the kitchen will be cordoned off.

On the 12th of December at 17:30 in META, QN and DESC will hold the SICKEST Super Smash Bros. Ultimate tournament since spring 2023!!! Everyone from the Data and Media chapters is welcome and every chapter member can also bring one additional external participant (+1)! The tournament will be a double-elimination, which means if you lose two games you are out of the tournament (i.e. don't lose to win!). The matches themselves will be 1v1! The ruleset for the matches themselves are the standard tournament ruleset: https://www.ssbwiki.com/Tournamentrulesets(SSBU) DLC characters (exempting Steve) are allowed! Some Switches might not have all DLCs, bring your own Switch if you want to be sure. Controllers will be provided but bring your own controller if you do not want to risk having to use a joycon!

A huge investigation has been made during the year, culminating in a decision by the University Board (who has more power than Rektor) by the end of the year. Before that, we at the Student Union THS wants to hear which worries you carry and which aspects are most important for you going forward. THS has actively represented the student perspective throughout the whole investigation and will continue to impact the discussions at KTH.

Every Saturday from 2 pm to 3 pm we have booked KTH Hallen for the rest of the semester. The idea is that we do some activity/sport for an hour. Everyone is welcome! The primary goal is having fun, not to play super competitively.

This week (Saturday 18th) we will play dodgeball 🤾‍♂️🤾‍♀️ for 1 hour. This Saturday will be extra special because we will be joined by the Media chapter!!! 😍. The more the merrier so bring your friends too! 🎉👫

I will try to vary the sports in the following weeks. And please come with suggestions for what we can do!!!

Application to the project group for the Spring Ball is closing on wednesday. So make sure to apply nowwww by the linked form🌷

Most groups have now finished their recruitment meaning it is about time for CPR training for members of our chapter!

The training will be divided into two groups and take place either the 28th or 30th of November. All members of the chapter are welcome to sign up, however certain groups may be prioritised in case of a shortage of spots.

Last date to apply is Monday November 20th.

IMPORTANT: The training will be held in Swedish this time. If you wish to attend, however do not understand swedish, please contact me at sma@datasektionen.se

The winter and after-ski season is just around the corner, but now you don’t have to wait any further for the after-ski at least. It is finally time for the annual dÅre-pub!!!🤩⛷🤩 The highlight of the evening is of course: ✨✨ dÅre ticket release!!! ✨✨ at 8pm at the pub!!!!! Info about dÅre: This year the trip will be to Vemdalen instead of Åre, however the trip will be at least as good if not better! During the pub at 8pm, 144 tickets for the computer chapters annual Ski Trip 13/1-18/1 will be released. This year there will be a lottery for the spots with everyone who signs up in the first 5 minutes (if the tickets sell out during that time), after that first come first served applies. Do you long for snow and skiing? Then fret no more for soon it will finally be time for dÅre 2024, that is, the Data chapter’s annual trip to ... wait a little, not Åre… this year the trip will be to Vemdalen! Despite that, we in dÅrestaben believe this will be one of the best ski trips in chapter history. This will also be the largest trip ever, since we will gather 144 excited students and spend 5 truly maxed out days together. The bus leaves late in the evening Saturday 13/1, and we will be home again Thursday 18/1. You really don’t want to miss this!!!!

Tickets will be released during a pub with DKM on the 15/11, so make sure you don't miss it!
