Computer Science Chapter's Honorary members

An honorary member is a person that has especially supported the chapters interests and aspirations. To nominate a honorary member a motion is sent to the D-directorate with a motivation, so that it can be brought up on the next chapter meeting for decision.

Richard Glassey

For many years, Ric Glassey has served as examiner and course coordinator for INDA, which is many of the chapter's members' first introduction to programming. Through this exemplary course, Ric has given many the motivation to continue in the programme and has been tremendously open to improvement based on student feedback. Through the course, Ric has become a highly appreciated teacher and, moreover, a friend of the chapter. This is evident, among other things, through his several years of collaboration with the Reception and by having served as toastmaster at one of the chapter's gasques. All of this means that Ric has made himself well deserving of becoming an honorary member of the Computer Science Chapter.

Viggo Kann

During his long career at KTH, Viggo Kann has consistently sought to make things easier for the students of the Computer Science programme. Time and again, he has worked to ensure that computer science students are heard and that our student influence is strengthened. In particular, Viggo has been more than willing to collaborate with the chapter's Educational Committee and its Equality, Diversity and Inclusion efforts. In his role as examiner for Prosam, he has on several occasions allowed the chapter to communicate information directly to the programme's students. Viggo has also ensured that scheduled time is set aside during D-Dagen so that programme students are not prevented by other courses from attending the chapter's career fair. Quite simply, Viggo has truly proven himself worthy of being an honorary member of the chapter.

Monika Lundell

As Vice Programme Director for the Computer Science programme, Monika has always stood up for both the chapter and the programme's students. From the programme office's side, she is consistently the one who attends our Chapter Meetings as its representative, often remaining for some time after her report item and, in good spirits, demonstrating a genuine interest in the chapter. On many occasions, Monika has also directly advocated for the chapter's interests - both academic and social - towards EECS and the programme office. Not least, she has worked very closely with the Educational Committee to improve the education on several fronts, something that was also evident when she personally attended one of the chapter's student feedback forums. Through all this engagement and interest, Monika is clearly deserving of being an honorary member of the chapter.

Örjan Ekeberg

Örjan Ekeberg has served as Programme Director for several years and has actively worked to improve the programme for all of us. He has always had the students' best interests at heart and has done everything he could to ensure that the school merger would turn out as well as possible. He has also supported the Reception for several years and celebrated his milestone birthdays with us. With this in mind, one can without hesitation say that Örjan deserves to be an honorary member of the Data Chapter.

Helen Lindkvist och Alicja Lissenko

Our academic advisors do an incredible amount of work to help chapter-active students balance their studies. They deserve our thanks.

Kjelle och Heidi

Some are better than others.

Henrik Eriksson

✟ 2017-07-27

For many years, Henrik Eriksson has been a close friend of the chapter. Among other things, he has supported the chapter's Reception on numerous occasions, held sci-fi lectures in ESCapen, distributed books, and participated in many other chapter activities. Above all, however, the chapter has Henrik to thank for his excellent pedagogy and inspiring dedication in the many courses he has taught for us computer science students over the years. Henrik is always open, cheerful, and kind toward us students and consistently has our best interests at heart. That he continues to do his utmost to teach us despite the rector having ignored our demonstrations and dismissed him due to his age says a great deal. In short, Henrik is a close friend who has long deserved to become an honorary member.

Britt Isaksson

Britt "Bitte" Isaksson has for several years been the person to turn to when one encounters problems with one's education. Many distressed computer science students have anxiously sought out the programme office, only to leave with lighter steps after a conversation with Bitte. But not only that, Bitte has also gladly participated in more student-oriented contexts and is always happy to help with the Reception as well as other activities. That she is consistently cheerful and helpful toward all frustrated computer science students makes Bitte more than well deserving of honorary membership.

Stefan Arnborg

✟ 2023-10-29

Stefan Arnborg served as Programme Director for the D Programme for just over ten years and was therefore deeply engaged in the programme's quality and development. The excellent opportunities we have to influence our programme are to a large extent his doing. Therefore, one can without hesitation assert that Stefan Arnborg has greatly advanced the chapter's interests.

Inger Larsson

Inger Larsson, likely one of the most kind-hearted people in the world, has always supported the Computer Science Chapter. Both in her role as Head of the Programme Office and in her private capacity, she has contributed time and financial support for the good of the chapter. Inger Larsson always has a minute to spare for anyone who needs her.

Inger Larsson should furthermore be recognized for her outstanding acting performances in "Den svarta filmen" (1995) and in various Reception activities over the years.

In short, Inger Larsson is the chapter's steadfast friend and has long deserved at least a honorary membership.

Yngve Sundblad

Yngve Sundblad was one of the driving forces behind the establishment of the Computer Science programme at KTH. He subsequently served as Chair of the Programme Board and as Vice Dean. He was appointed Honorary Member in connection with the Computer Science Chapter's 5th anniversary as a token of our appreciation for his genuine commitment to the programme over the years.

Stefan Östlund, Katrin Rosenqvist, Johan Groth

Johan Groth, Katrin Rosenqvist, and Stefan Östlund were, in different ways, active in connection with the Primus Reception and the founding of the Computer Science Chapter. They were appointed Honorary Members of the Computer Science Chapter at its constitutional Chapter Meeting in October 1983.
