KTH:s populära projekt Student för en dag pågår under vårterminen 2015 och vi söker nu studenter från alla utbildningar som vill guida och inspirera gymnasieelever.

Jobbet innebär att visa 2-4 gymnasieelever från årskurs 3 runt ditt Campus under en dag. Nedan följer exempel på saker som ni gör tillsammans under dagen:

• Ta med dig eleverna på dina föreläsningar, övningar eller laborationer

• Visa KTH-området och de ställen man rör sig på som KTH-student

• Berätta om din utbildning och studentlivet

• Titta på kurslitteratur

• Ät lunch tillsammans med eleverna och svara på deras frågor

Som ersättning får du en lunch och två biobiljetter. Du kan guida en elev eller flera elever i en grupp.

English below Igår hade THS Kårfullmäktige (KF) sitt andra sammanträde för verksamhetsåret. Eftersom tidigare Kårordförande valde att entlediga sig i oktober var det nu dags för ett fyllnadsval till posten. Cecilia Molinder har sedan entledigandet suttit som vice ordförande och tillförordnad ordförande. Igår ställde hon upp i valet till Kårordförande och valdes till posten för resterande verksamhetsår. Därför hölls det även ett fyllnadsval till posten som Vice Kårordförande, där Lisa Zöllner Wohlfart blev vald.

Utöver det presenterade Kårstyrelsen en handlingsplan för hur de hanterade tidigare Kårordförandes entledigande. De visade också upp den senaste verksamhets- och ekonomirapporten för THS centralt. Till nästa möte kommer Kårstyrelsen att presentera en halvårsprognos för det ekonomiska läget. Under mötet beviljades också Kårstyrelsen 2013/2014 ansvarsfrihet vilket firades med jubel och glädjetjut!

KF valde att bordlägga motionen som vill ändra Kårfullmäktiges sammansättning och mandatfördelning för att kunna fortsätta utreda frågan under året. Valgeneralen är i full gång med att planera nästa ordinarie val för Kårfullmäktige. KF beslutade att valet kommer att hållas mellan den 13-20 april nästa år.

Under mötet var även Osqledaren på plats, som är THS egen tidning. De genomförde en egen live-rapportering under mötet som finns att läsa här för den som är nyfiken och vill veta mer.

Yesterday THS Student Council (abbreviated KF in Swedish) held its second meeting for this operational year. Since the previous President of THS had chosen to step down in October it was now time for a by-election for the position. Cecilia Molinder has, since this event occurred, held the position as Vice President as well as appointed President. Yesterday she ran in the election for President of THS and was elected to the position for the remaining operational year. Therefore a by-election was also held for the position as Vice President, where Lisa Zöllner Wohlfart was chosen.

Moreover THS board presented an action plan for how they handled the previous Presidents leave. They also showed the latest operational and financial report for THS central. For the next meeting the board will present a half annual prognosis of the financial state. During the meeting THS board for 2013/2014 was also granted freedom from liability, which was celebrated with laughter and merriment!

The Student Council also chose to table the motion that proposed to change the Council’s structure and allocation of seats, in order to continue to further evaluate the question during the year. The Election General is planning the next ordinary election to the Student Council. The meeting decided that the election will be held between the 13-20 April next year.

During the meeting THS own paper “Osqledaren” was also present. They carried out their own live reporting from the meeting, which can be read here for anyone who is curious to know more (Swedish only).

Efter ett långt och hårt val har vi äntligen kommit till ett resultat, det vi alla väntat på: valet av META-skylt. 127 personer röstade, och efter att vi räknat rösterna som single transferable votes så har vi fått en vinnare.

Därför kan vi nu stolt meddela att vinnaren är ingen annan än… drumroll Robin Leijon Svensson med alternativ nummer 8!

Vi har pratat med våra kompisar Maskinarna och dom säger att det ser väldigt görbart ut, det enda dom tror kommer behöva ändras är avståndet mellan bokstäverna (som är lite litet). Det är inte helt säkert ännu.

After a long and hard election we finally have a result, what we all been waiting for: the election of the META-sign. 127 persons have voted and after we tallied all the votes using a single transferable voting-system we have a winner.

Thus, we can now proudly present that the winner is no other than… drumroll Robin Leijon Svensson with alternativ number 8!

We have talked with the people over at Machine who are going to make the sign and they say that it looks very doable, the only comment they had was that the letters need a little more space between them. More might arrive.

We in the METAdor’s has looked at some statistics from other sellers of beverage, and as it turns out they sell pretty well during December, especially beverages that is consumed during the holidays. 25% of the years sales of spiced schnapps occurs during December, 26% of the sales of champagne is done and non-alcohol has 17% of it’s sales during this month. Fun fact, “Glögg” (one of the most Christmas-traditional-beverages we in Sweden have) only sells about 56%.

Well, I am getting to my point. We also want to partake in this joy of purchase of beverages, so we have decided to sell one beverage that people consume a lot during the holidays: Christmas-coca-cola! It’s like Coca Cola, but a lot different. We call it “Julmust” and it sells for only 10kr! Limited time only! Get it while it’s… cold?

A report on the THS Student Council’s mode of operation was presented on the first THS Student Council meeting for the 2014/2015 year of activity, and in relation to this report a motion to change THS primary language to English and have Swedish as the secondary language, with being able to speak Swedish as a requirement for some positions in the organization.

The THS Student Council, however, felt that there were several questions that needed to be answered before they wished to begin a transfer to a new language, such as how it would work to have a different operational language than the seat of learning to which the student union is attached, or if any public authorities have any formal demands in terms of operational language.

With regards to this, THS Student on the Council assigned the THS board to creating a group to evaluate the effects of changing the operational language of THS. The group will do most of its work during spring and if there are enough candidates the group will be started at the THS Board meeting on December 3. On the 7th of December THS will host a badminton tournament in Frescatihallen at Stockholms University! The tournament will be played in pairs and you can either apply as a pair or get paired up with someone with similar skill level.

The tournament is a kick-off prior to this springs THS championships and will be held between 11am and 6pm.

If you don’t have your own badminton equipment there will be equipment availible for rent at Frescati.
