Today the new dbuggen, Vampire-dbuggen, is released at the Prylmångleriet sale. It costs an insignificant amount and can be read an infinite number of times, which means it is effectively free.

The only question that remains is whether YOU dare to read it. Come to META and buy it during lunch!

Now the day order is out for the coziest SM of the year, Glögg-SM, which will be held in a week! There, next year's board will be elected, many rhymes will be read and much glögg will be drunk.

Projekt Groda can happily announce that in collaboration with Fältbiologerna (part of Naturskyddsföreningen) we will hold** our first lunch lecture**! Thursday 28/11 at 12.15 in V3 we will serve free food while Tobias from Fältbiolgerna tells us about their work and what you can do.

Register now before the places run out and get a good free lunch while learning about how you can act for the environment!

The lecture will be held exclusively in Swedish.

You can now vote for the positions of Chairman, Vice chairman, Treasurer, and Vice treasurer are now open. This election is held digitally at https://durn.datasektionen.se/. All chapter members can vote by logging in with their KTH account and ranking the candidates. If a candidate has submitted a presentation it will be visible next to their name.

It is once again time for Konglig Datasektionen’s yearly puzzle hunt/CTF competition dJulkalendern! Do you have too much time to study? Exams to procrastinate? Homeworks to ignore? Wonderful! Come and compete for the title Bäst på att DATA™!

A challenge is released every weekday in December until Christmas Eve at 12:15 CET and your task is to solve it as fast as possible! The challenges are cryptic puzzles, hacking and other computer science related things! The calendar also has an intriguing story that unfolds as you solve each window.

The competition is individual, but cooperation is encouraged if you get stuck!

The winner receives the title Bäst på att DATA™. There is also an achievement patch for those who solve all windows and those who do it the quickest will receive dJulkalendern-themed T-shirts!

You can already go to https://djul.datasektionen.se and solve the introductory window, -1, make sure you understand the system and read the rules!

You should also join our discord server: https://djul.se/discord, where you can ask us questions, discuss the windows you have solved and be notified about any possible hints!

The Study Board wants to extend a helping hand to all students that are about to embark on the perilous journey of writing their master thesis. We have gathered elder and wiser students than ourselves that have survived their thesisis (thesisi?), and KTH representatives. Project Dive is a project started last year, aimed at promoting gender balance in our program by introducing Datasektionen, its members, and opportunities to future university students.

This round, we are looking for two specific roles: a Vice Project Lead and a PR Manager. Early next year, we will open recruitment for additional positions on the project team.

Winter is approaching, which of course also means that spring is closer than ever (since last spring, at least). And spring brings one of the Computer Science Chapter’s finest traditions – Vårbalen, the Spring Ball! 🤩

This Tuesday (12/Nov), the International Committee 🌍 will hold an International Potluck 🍲 where people from all over the Chapter will cook different dishes of their choice and then serve it for others to try. 🍽️ This is a collaboration with QN, meaning guests will be able to play board games 🎲 while snacking on the food available as long as they pay a small entry fee. 🤑 (Attending QN without eating is still free!)

Our hope is to have a diverse array of recipes available, including traditional Swedish food 🇸🇪 and international dishes 🌐 from all around the world. Show your interest here and we'll get back to you if you're selected to cook! We've booked the Nymble kitchen and will give you a certain budget for ingredients, plus you'll get to try out other people's creations for free during the event itself.

Tickets will be distributed by lottery among those who sign up within the first 20 minutes; after that, it will be first come, first served.
