METAspexet has now opened applications! METAspexet is a project jointly run by the Computer Science Chapter and the Chapter for Media Technology, and we organize the WORLD'S BEST SPEX.

Every year, we usually have around 130 happy spex participants across 14 different groups, working together to put on spex performances in May.

We have a bit of everything from stage groups and music groups like our band, to graphic design, sound and lighting technology and much more. We also have our own party group, SpexM, which organizes parties and other fun activities for the rest of the spex.

The application will close on October 13th. APPLY!!!

Since we did not manage to fill all the entries during the first application period, we are now opening the application again! If you are the least bit interested in a management role or STUDS in general, I encourage you to APPLY or come and talk to me!

Are you a current or future Master's student looking for a fun and slightly different course? Maybe you also want to work on your leadership skills and have a little more responsibility? Then the management group for STUDS 2025 is something for you!

But, for those of you who missed it, what is STUDS? Studs is a project, and a course of 15 credits, where around 30 master's students get the chance to visit interesting companies in the IT industry during the course of the year. The project then ends with a study trip! Where the study trip goes depends on how many events we have during the year and what the group thinks!

In the management group, you get to take responsibility for your own group, develop your leadership skills, and make more contacts in both the business world and with other students. Anyone studying a master's degree and a program linked to the EECS school are welcome and encouraged to apply.

Hello chapter! It's been almost a year since dJubileet took over our lives, and that means you only remember the absolute best and worst from the dJubilee weeks. We in the project group now want to hear all these memories and therefore ask you to fill out our feedback form, which you can find at dsekt.se/djub-feedback

The application for the Script Group in METAspexet 2025 has opened and will already begin its work this summer! Fill in this form if you want to contribute to this years script. The groups first activity is planned to take place the 19-21th of Juli, so if you plan to apply please try to make room at that time. Answers to common questions can be found in our FAQ. (Swedish)

Now there is only (about five months) left until December and with it, the start of the Christmas Calendar 2024! BUT before that, something equally important occurs, namely the Autumn Calendar which is organised for the new students during the reception period.

The Christmas Calendar is data's own CTF competition. "What is a CTF competition?" Well, the Christmas Calendar (and the Autumn Calendar) is a so-called CTF-competition which stands for Capture The Flag — (and competition stands for competition) and is a competition in cybersecurity where participants try to find text strings, termed as flags, by exploiting vulnerabilities in programs and the like.

Anyway, for us to be able to have any calendars, a project group is needed for the whole thing and therefore it's important that YOU continue to read the following points to see what YOU could help with:

Coding puzzles

Are you a clever type who loves problem-solving and are you, or do you aspire to be, on the registers of Säpo and FRA as individuals who pose a threat to the country's IT infrastructure? If so, it is in your interest to help create puzzles, it will be fun, APPLY!

Story writing/lore

Are you someone who has a talent for writing stories that will one day likely be awarded the Nobel Prize AND/OR give the government an incentive to promptly funnel money into closed care and reopen Beckomberga Hospital with you as the only patient? If so, help us write a gripping and (perhaps) autumnal/Christmassy story that can embrace this year's calendars, APPLY!

Are you someone who dislikes free will and is an expert on subliminal messages and how to get people to listen even if they might not think about it, are you possibly a trained hypnotist or medium? If so, APPLY APPLY APPLY (and find the form at the bottom of the message)!

Graphic design

Is graphic design your passion and do you want virtually complete artistic freedom, APPLY!!

Fiddling with website

Are you completely fluent in everything to do with websites and/or servers and feel that you want to be involved in improving the Christmas Calendar's website to something so complete that it will be stamped as a world heritage by UNESCO, or is it so that you previously made a website through Wix for your uncle, or have you just learned about the internet and find this website stuff exciting, APPLY!

(Note to all my dear international students reading this: Because the spex is a theater production in Swedish the chief group is expected to be able to communicate in Swedish. Sup!! School will soon be coming to an end and summer break is in sight! It also sadly means that there won't be any Tuesday sewing as usual. So, tomorrow is the last Tuesday sewing circle for the school year, so come and bring everything you want to sew!
