The next chapter meeting, the Mulled Wine Chapter Meeting, will be held November 27. The chapter meeting (or SM for short) is the chapter’s highest legislative body. This is where our members can propose and vote on what the Chapter should be doing.

Even if you already know about the chapter or you are interested in learning more about it, you are welcome to attend. This is where you are able to voice your opinions and make a difference!

If you have an idea or a proposal to the chapter, write a motion! Talk to the D-directorate (the chapter board) if you want help. You reach them at drek@d.kth.se! In order to generate a LaTeX typeset motion that follows the Chapter’s standards for formatting motions, use the online form at motioner.datasektionen.se Send in your motion(s) to drek@d.kth.se by 18:00, November 13!

NOTE: You need to bring a valid ID, as well as a THS ID (Mecenat card with Nymble, the THS shield as well the Chapter’s shield on it), or any other document that can verify that you are a member of the Computer Science Chapter! In case you haven’t received your card yet, you can use the Mecenat app on your phone, or you can ask for a document at the THS Reception (KårX), that verifies your membership.

Yesterday was the last day to accept a nomination to the elections for the Mulled-Wine-Chapter-meeting. For the offices auditor(x2) and Program Responsible Student had no candidates. Therefore has another election period been opened up for theese offices.

Nomination for theese post must be submitted at the latest on the 21st of november and theses must be accepted no later than on the 26th of november.

Monday the 20th of November 18:00 will this years Candidate Questioning be in B1!

The offices Chapter president and Chapter vice-president is elected before the Mulled-Wine-Chapter-Meeting. Therefore the candidates for these offices present themself and aswer your questions before the meeting and the election closes.

The president at KTH has made decision to limit the access to public study areas during evenings and weekends due to them not being used for their intended purpose. This primary interpretation is that this mainly concerns the computer labs but more information will be posted.

Currently the most relevent information for computer science students is that all study areas will be accessible buisiness days 07-20. The computer labs in the E-building will be accessible buisiness days 07-22 and the computer labs in the D-buildning will be accessible all 24/7 all year round. The decision will take in effect the first of december and last one year. This currently means that if you want to use the computer labs during the weekend you will have to use the labs in D (there are other labs open but D is the most relevant for CS-students). They may open more labs if needed but we will probably have to base that need on some collected data. There is some more information in swedish in the attached presidents decision .

To collect data to back up our claim we have created a form which should be filled when all computer labs are full during weekends and evenings. (Not currently translated but with very simple swedish)

There you can meet and greet the chapters comittees and officers to learn what is happening in the chapter. And there is a lot happening all the time. Come and find what interests you!

Dreamhack Winter 2017 (DHW17) will be held in the Elmia Fair in Jönköping Friday 2017-12-01 08:00 - Monday 2017-12-04 (08:00), and the Computer Science Chapter is attending! This event is hosted by the Computer Science Chapter's board DESC (Datas E-Sports Community). Double-check that you're not having anything important scheduled then. We've booked the chapter's car for this event, and we have 4,000 SEK in transportation budget to play around with.

We're aiming to be in Jönköping ~11:00 for the opening ceremonies. It takes a bit more than 3 hours to drive Stockholm -> Jönköping by car, so this means we will be driving to pick up the participants' computers the day before. We will meet early (08:00) the following day at KTH to start our journey. If you want to arrange your own transportation that's of course fine, but the chapter won't subsidize your gas expenses.

Everyone is welcome to come alone, including significant others, siblings, friends and your beloved grandmother :) A caveat though: non-members of the Computer Science Chapter can join us in the chapter/rental car as long as there's space; the chapter's money should be spent on the chapter's members. If there are seats available they are of course welcome to ride along, but the chapter's members come first.

The pack list includes your Chapter overalls (if you have it), your computer, and sleeping equipment. The sleeping area is a large hall (think sports gymnasium) where everyone sleeps on the floor, so pack according to your own needs.

Two more things: - DH Game is super awesome, everyone should be participating! - There are plans to build a 'scaffolding' to put our computers in, more info on this before december if it becomes reality.

It's that time of the year again for the Computer Science chapter's yearly ski trip to Åre, dÅre.

Every year we organize a trip up to Åre for some awesome slopes and even better company. We leave on saturday evening on Januari 13th and we'll go back on thursday afternoon the 18th. It's going to be great fun and we in the organizer group are super stoked.

We will release the tickets on Oktober 31 20:00. You will find them on www.dåre.se

Note that we will prioritise members of the Computer Science chapter, however if there are any available tickets other friends and people are welcome to sign up.
